CALVIN DEWAYNE STRAUGHTER, age 29, a life-long resident of Dallas, died Saturday, August 11, 2012 in Oklahoma. He was born November 22, 1982 in Dallas, to Alma Straughter and Yvonda Rainwater. Calvin was a supervisor at Strategic Recovery Group in Irving and attended Fellowship Christian Center Church in Allen. He graduated from Grand Prairie High School in 2001, and then graduated from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri in 2005. Survivors include his wife, Damitta Straughter of Allen; son, Evan Straughter; daughter, Jaila Straughter; mother, Alma Straughter Gilbert and husband Michael Gilbert of Dallas; brothers DeYorbrough Straughter of Dallas and Kevin Chambers of Irving; grandmother, Freddie Keys of Dallas; step-father, Kevin Chambers of Dallas; father, Yvonda Rainwater; aunts, Pamela and Anita; uncles, Eric and Thurston; cousins, David and Iesha; half brother and a half sister, as well as a host of other family members. Memorial Service will be at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Donnelly’s Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Wayne Stafford will officiate.
